Catherine participated in a ten-day playwriting workshop under the auspices of Playwrights Theatre Centre (PTC) and worked closely with dramaturg Heidi Taylor in Vancouver, BC in January of 2020. She met Heidi at the 2019 edition of SOUND OFF at her first solo-play reading workshop. She was beyond thrilled to be chosen for “WrightSpace”, a residency at the prestigious PTC.
This part deux explores themes, on complex familial relationships. Her family survived the fierce snowstorm in 1982, how did they get out?
Reclaiming deaf performances, and authentic portrayal based on a true story of an isolated real-life character, told in a modern-day version.
Inaudibility: the fact of not being able to be heard. In other words, our stories are not being heard.
