The Awaken Workshop Series
February 7 from 5pm – 8:30pm
February 8 from 12pm – 8pm
at the BK Block (10418 107 Avenue)

A workshop series that asks: what are the elements necessary for a world that honours Black life; and by extension, Black art? Covering topics such as Afro-Indigineity, the business of art, breath work and mindfulness, as well as a networking opportunity for social justice minded artists- we will explore the dimensions of Blackness that create our world. Oh, and we gon eat.

12pm: Sing-a-long Brunch with D’orjay the Singing Shaman
1:15pm: Business of Art with Jerome Morgan (workshop)
2:30pm: Youth Poet Laureate Showcase with Timiro Mohamed (performance)
4pm: Dinner
4:45pm: Activism and the Call to Action (panel discussion & networking)
6:15pm: Breathwork & Mindfulness with Queen Charlene (workshop)
