IOLA (from “Ayoola” –  a Yoruba word from Nigeria meaning “The Joy in Wealth”) is an Edmonton dance group comprised of university students who dance to depict their cultural richness. Ivan, a Cameroonian, describes dance as happiness through every move which reflects his persona. Omono who is Nigerian brands his style and rhythmic flow as a new-age fusion of afrobeat and hip-hop. Lebene is Ghanaian/Togolese and uses various dance styles to express herself. Ashleigh who is of multicultural descent is a self-taught dancer and previous competitor for Dance Canada
